Tashaun Fair

Tashaun Fair, who was accused of killing Mitchell Dubey, but was ultimately acquitted, was recently found guilty for conspiracy to commit robbery.

Fair plead guilty to criminal possession of a firearm and conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery on April 3. The charge stemmed from an October 2013 incident.

He was sentenced to 12 years of jail, suspended after six years with probation for three years for the conspiracy charge and five years for the firearm charge.

He has been in the custody of the Department of Correction since Oct. 7, which is when he was arrested for the robbery incident. His maximum release date is Oct. 7, 2019.

The prosecution faced an uphill battle with the Dubey case, especially after the state's key witness backed down from a previous alleged story. Fair had a previous felony conviction for third-degree robbery from a 2011 case.
