A 20-year-old New Haven man has been charged in the Sept. 18 slaying of Joseph Mirvil, 29, police said.
Suspect John Claudio, shown,  is charged with murder, police said in a statement. He is being held in lieu of $1 million bail, police spokesman Officer David Hartman said in the statement.
Mirvil was shot to death at the Church Street South housing complex, in the front vestibule of an apartment in the Malcolm Court section of the complex, Hartman said.
“After an intensive investigation, detectives of the Major Crimes Unit obtained an arrest warrant” for Claudio, Hartman said in the statement.
