The number of shooting and homicide victims is nearly the same for 2014 compared to the first half of 2013.
There were seven homicide victims as of June 29, 2014, compared to eight for the same time period last year. There were 30 non-fatal shooting victims in 2014 compared to 31 for the same period in 2013.
Reports of robberies committed with a firearm have dropped by 30 percent from 140 last year compared to 98 this year as of June 29.
All property crimes categories are down from last year. The most significant reduction is theft from automobiles, which has tanked more than 41 percent compared to the same time period last year.
