NEW HAVEN — Darryl Staton, charged with murdering
Enrique Lawrence three years ago and wounding his mother, Linda Lawrence,
will go on trial in Superior Court this fall after the laborious process of
seating a 16-member jury.
Jury selection began last week and continued Monday in the courtroom of Judge
Jon C. Blue. By the end of the day Monday, five jurors had been selected. The
case will be heard by 12 regular jurors and four alternates.
The tentative date to begin hearing evidence is Oct. 29.

Due process helps loved ones move forward after losing someone tragically. Being able to put a face to the person that allegedly killed someone that you care for and love is essential. I am happy for the friend's and family that are able to bring some closure to the death of their loved one.
